Restorative Dentistry – Regain Your Smile at Lakeside Dental Arts
At Lakeside Dental Arts, our goal is to help every patient achieve a healthy, confident smile through personalized restorative dental care. Whether you are dealing with damaged, decayed, or missing teeth, we offer a variety of advanced restorative treatments tailored to your individual needs.
Request an AppointmentOne of our most common procedures is replacing old silver (amalgam) fillings with durable, tooth-colored composite fillings. These not only strengthen and preserve the tooth but also enhance the natural appearance of your smile. For teeth that are broken or severely decayed, we often recommend ceramic crowns to restore both aesthetics and function.
If you are missing one or more teeth, we provide several restorative options. Dental bridges are used to fill gaps between teeth, with fixed bridges permanently bonded to adjacent teeth for long-lasting support. For a more independent solution, dental implants can replace a missing tooth without affecting surrounding teeth.
We also offer both partial and complete dentures. Partial dentures are securely anchored to your remaining natural teeth, providing a stable and comfortable fit. Full dentures are ideal when all teeth are missing or require removal, offering a complete smile restoration.
Overdenture
Overdenture is a removable dental prosthesis that rests on your gums and is anchored by implants in both the upper and lower jaw.Overdentures are appropriate for patients who have lost their teeth and desire a stable, comfortable denture.
As overdentures use dental implants, they are much more secure than traditional dentures which are held in place by a glue or adhesive. This improved stability allows for improved chewing abilities. The improved chewing also helps promote bone growth by allowing for natural stimulation.
There are three different types of overdenture treatment forms:
- A fixed implant supported overdenture that is secured into the upper and/or lower jaw by means of screw-like dental implants. This form is only removable by a dental professional.
- An implant retained, gum supported overdenture that sits directly onto the gums and is held in place by retentive attachments and is removable. This is the most common form of overdenture.
- A bar retained implant supported overdenture. A metal bar is connected via dental implants and the removable overdenture is then secured to the bar through attachments found directly on the denture itself.
Your dentist can help you determine which of these options is best for you.
